Pour elle, l’image est un moyen de raconter des histoires, d’exprimer ses émotions et de poser un regard sensible sur le monde.
Au cœur de son œuvre, un thème récurrent : la mer.
Refuge et source d’inspiration inépuisable, elle incarne une quête de liberté, un espace de contemplation et une métaphore de la fluidité des émotions. Sa lumière changeante, ses reflets mouvants et ses textures infinies nourrissent une pratique photographique à la fois poétique et introspective.
Dans son premier livre Respirer, elle plonge le spectateur dans un univers sous-marin contemplatif, où la respiration, la liberté des corps et l’immensité apaisante de l’eau deviennent des axes de réflexion.
Par ses images, elle saisit la beauté éphémère des instants suspendus, tout en explorant notre lien intime avec cet élément essentiel.
Aujourd'hui, Jeanne-Lise poursuit plusieurs projets personnels, dont une série documentaire sur les fouilles archéologiques d'une femme en Arabie Saoudite, et des travaux plus larges portant sur la représentation des femmes et de la nature. A travers ses photographies, elle allie engagement et introspection, racontant des histoires universelles tout en invitant à une réflexion intime.

Jeanne-Lise Nédélec is a photographer from the Mediterranean.
For more than 15 years she has explored photography with passion, blending experimentation and intuition. To her, an image is a way to tell stories, convey emotions and cast a sensitive gaze on the world.
A recurring theme runs through her work: the sea. Both a refuge and an inexhaustible source of inspiration, it embodies a quest for freedom, a space for contemplation and a metaphor for the fluidity of emotions. Its changing light, shifting reflections and endless textures feed a practice that is at once poetic and introspective.
In her first book, Breathe (Respirer), she draws viewers into a contemplative underwater realm where breath, bodily freedom and the soothing immensity of water become lines of inquiry. Through her images, she seizes the fleeting beauty of suspended moments while exploring our intimate connection with this essential element.
Today, Jeanne-Lise is pursuing several personal projects, including a documentary series about a woman’s archaeological excavations in Saudi Arabia and broader work on the representation of women and nature. Through her photographs she weaves commitment and introspection, telling universal stories while inviting personal reflection.
